About the candidates

Benoit Barbier

Born in 1965, Benoit graduated as an engineer from the Ensam-Paristech. He is now an operations manager of an international industrial group manufacturing spectacles frames and lenses. He has been living in Lisbon (Portugal) for many years. Benoit became a member of the French chapter of the EFP in 2010, and is now a member of the Portuguese chapter.

Arlindo Costa

Born in South Africa as the son of immigrants from the beautiful island of Madeira. Resident in Portugal for more than 14 years, Arlindo is an IT and design consultant at the t8ch.com project. He is confident that the world needs a Europe that will give hope for a better tomorrow – hence his willingness to work for a better Europe.

José Almeida

José holds a degree in European studies and works as an IT manager at a Law company in Lisbon. A long time federalist, having previously volunteered for the Union of European Federalists, José is currently the President of the Portuguese chapter of the EFP. He is also actively involved in several other civil society organizations, including neighborhood resident associations.
